A wee gem with a Fairy Glen
Just back from 16 nights at Englethwaite Hall.
Had a lovely peaceful stay altho the weather was poor we still managed to get out and about.
The grounds were particulary beautiful despite us missing the best of the blooms.
beautifully kept grounds by the wardens and the volunteeers. Grass immaculate, flower beds beautifully kept altho not appreciated by some members whose vehicles ran over the lovely slate edging of a new bed near the entrance.
Would also like to note the lack of observation of 5mph speed limit.
Would also like to mention here how difficult it was to get a continuous booking.
Seems that one nighter motorhomers really put a spanner in the works ....perhaps a minimum stay of 2/3 nights might allow long time members a chance of at least a week......Loyalty towards longstanding members like us perhaps.
Disappointed that we did not get a seasonal pitch yet again.
The wardens were lovely and friendly and helpful.....hope they are still there next season.
Hope the Friday night fish and chips will be back on the menu to make a perfect stay.
Phone signal and wifi very random and unreliable.
