If you simply want a base to park your Motorhome or Caravan to visit Edinburgh or the nearby docked Royal Yacht Britannia then this is ideal. But......... Firsty the site is situated directly under a main flight path for Edinburgh Airport, aeroplanes still coming over after 11.30pm at night. Behind the hedges at the rear of the site are football fields, particularly noisy on Early Sunday Mornings. We personally did get the feel its a quiet place to sit outside your van in a deckchair. The otherside of the site is on a noisy roadside. Secondly if you decide to take the Public Bus, the bus stop for this is about 15 min walk. ( Bus fare is a reasonable £1.70 ) We are did this walk Twice, beware the path was strune with Dog Poo, its also abit isolated in parts. After speaking to a local Taxi driver, DONT take this walk at night. It borders in its later parts a real problem and troubled housing estate ( Muirhouse )
