Having just returned from a visit to Edinburgh I can understand why the Scots invented whisky. We arrived in a temperature of just 4 degrees and left 5 days later in 23 degrees. Besides the weather Edinburgh is a great city, I'm not a city person so one visit to any city in a year is plenty for me. But we packed lots of activities into a short stay - the Underground city; Royal Yacht Britannia; Holyrood House Palace; Castle. we took a short trip up to Falkirk to see the Canal wheel; The Kelpies in Helix Park and Callander House. Eating try the Mussel Inn on Rose Street, and you must go and look in the Dome even if you don't eat just look. Site is in a great location, evening walks along the sea path and the local mini-bus at the site made it easy for going in & out of the city in just 15 mins, but make sure you ring the number to make sure they are coming. Site was spotlessly clean and staff were really welcoming.
