This is a jewel of a site, principally because of the easy access to Edinburgh and its attractions. You can get the bus from the nearby stop, or travel on the regular minibus that departs from the site. All at very reasonable prices too. The dog walk is amongst the "Spoof Wood" which is rather intriguing, but also home to wildlife. Take a look for yourself! Facilities, likewise are clean and tidy. Downsides? Very few. There can be traffic noise from the adjacent road, but pitching toward the middle of the site would avoid that.  The site is also close to the final approach track to Edinburgh Airport, so there's some noise from approaching aircraft, but Edinburgh's not Heathrow, so hardly anything to worry about.
