We spent three nights here, really friendly welcome and a nicely laid out site with easy access to City Centre. Local taxi / minibus service gets you into the City with little problem and at reasonable cost. Don't miss the Royal Yacht Brittania - great trip and a chance to see how the other half live. Free parking on site - expensive restaurant on board but oh so worthwhile! Lovely river walk nearby. Close to Edinburgh airport so there is some aeroplane noise but it didn't spoil our stay. Be warned Arthurs Seat (fantastic viewpoint) closed to traffic on Sundays and some bank holidays but if you are fit you can always walk it!! Castle, Holyrood and Scottish Parliament all worth a visit. Great shopping and loads of restaurants and cafes - we just loved it. We should have liked more time so will have to return another day.
