Just back from 4 nights at this site. We were worried from previous reviews that mentioned in might be in a 'dodgy' area and that there had been bike thefts. But we need not have worried. The site has recently installed bike lockers and we were strongly encouraged to use them. The site staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The noise of the overhead aircraft was noticable but we soon got used to it and did not bother us too much. Site facilities are great and up to usual club standards. We did not use the local bus service but the shuttle service direct from the site to Edinburgh for £6 each return. Great service. Good cycling from the site. We went along route 1 to the Forth road bridge. It was much hillier than we expected but managed. On the return journey we found route 76 much flatter and more pleasant along the coastline. We will definitely return soon.
