We enjoyed visiting the area and the site is conveniently placed for getting out and about in this beautiful area of the country. We were given a map of Edinburgh and bus information on our arrival which was very helpful. The bus stop is about 10 minutes walk from the site but the buses into the city are frequent (every 8-10 minutes), so you don't have to wait around too long. The city is superb and there is a wealth of things to do there. There are a couple of downsides to the site, however. Firstly there is a potential security issue. We were warned on arrival to use bike lockers / put motorbikes in the garage as there had been thefts from the site in the past. We were grateful of the advance warning and did make use of this facility, but it did give a slight unease whilst on site. The other downside is that this site lies directly under the incoming flight path for Edinburgh Airport and there are frequent planes landing from around 5.30am until midnight, flying directly over the site. If you like to go to bed early / stay in bed late, you may find that the peace and quiet is somewhat disturbed by this. The site, overall, however, is well kept. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the facilities are in excellent order.
