An oasis within easy reach of Edinburgh

I agree with many of the other reviewers, a typical high quality Caravan Club site. Very helpful wardens etc. However since we last stopped here a number of years ago, the public transport that stopped outside the gate has gone. Buses to Leith and Edinburgh are frequent and cost £1.60 each way or £4.00 for a day pass. We found these easy to use and understand. There is a Morrisons 5 min drive away or 30 min walk. We have a m/home and wished we had brought our bikes as the route into Leith looked quite safe. Leith is worth an explore in the old dockland area with good pubs and restuarants emerging with its regeneration. This is on the bus route into Edinburgh. The short cut along the side of the site towards the site should only be used in daylight. We returned one day in twilight to find a man relaxing in the grass next to the fence nursing a number of cans of Tennants lager! This would not stop us using this site again when visiting Edinburgh. Just be concious of the fact that it is close to an area with social problems.
