Had three nights here, and loved the location - right next to sandy beach which stretches for about 2 miles. In addition, Dunnet Head, Duncansby Head, Castle of Mey and Mary Anne's Croft Museum recommended. Thurso only 20 minute drive away. I found wardens welcoming, friendly, cheerful and helpful: seems odd that some people have been saying the opposite. I wonder if the explanation is that these visitors did not encounter the regular wardens: a couple who are on duty 7 days a week with a locum sent in every few weeks while they get a week-long break. Will definitely return - and for more than 3 nights next time. So much to do here!
