This site is ideally situated for the Gills Bay ferry to Orkney. Although busy in July, there was ample space between pitches, and for the most part people respected their space, keeping dogs on leads etc. Because of all the rain prior to our stay, 2 or 3 pitches were closed off which seemed a sensible decision. We had previously been to Culloden and found it very soggy. The wardens were very pleasant and helpful. Facilities were immaculate, our only grouse being that the wash-up area has only two sinks and on our first night a couple were using both (washing and drying)! with no consideration for the folk waiting outside. The beach is fabulous and for dog owners its a terrific facility with direct access from the site; folk seemed to be cleaning up after their dogs, we saw very little dog dirt.

We would happily stay at Dunnet Bay again.
