Not so solitary
We stayed here after touring up the west coast and highlands wanting to visit John O Groats. On arrival were given a cheerful reception by the relief warden. Toilet facilities very clean but were quite small (3 shower cubicles in mens) for the number of pitches on the site. Site is adjacent a lovely beach and next to public car park for the beach. The site is bordered on one side by the road to John O Groats with only a fence separating, so not private and lots of passing traffic when we visited in August. It is a good base for visiting John O Groats, Castle of Mey, Orkney, etc. but maybe not the place for those seeking solitude and tranquility.
