Delicious Dunnet

What a gem of a site!  We were welcomed by the very friendly and helpful wardens at the start of our 6 night stay on this lovely site.  All of the facilities were of the high standard that members come to expect of a club site. There is direct access to a wide, sandy beach which is wonderful for dogs as well as families!  The ground is mostly flat but some undulations mean that minimal levelling may be required on some pitches. The road which runs adjacent to the site is a main 'A' road but like many such roads in the area, is quiet and unobtrusive. The amazing sunsets over Dunnet Head were a bonus during our stay! The site is on the North500 Route and enabled us to drive solo along the parts that are unsuitable for caravans west towards Durness (some parts of the route are also unsuitable for motorhomes).  The area can be very windy at times but you are on the very northern most point of the British Isles here so not to be unexpected. John O'Groats is just a few miles away from where you can take the amazing 'Maxi Tour' to the Orkney Islands. (There is also dog day care available nearby which was excellent for our 2 dogs while we made the trip to Orkney).  Overall, we would highly recommend this site for visiting all that magical Caithness and the surrounding area has to offer.
