Dsappointed.
Decided to go away for 3 nights. This time also thought I should use my club. So booked Drumaheglis Marina and Caravan park. booked c35 which was close to the second toilet block. as it is nearing the end of season, the site was quite, (we were the only clients, a few static seasonal caravans sitting, all hooked up). The warden peter, said there would be some arrivals for the weekend.
On the second day, I left my electric cable sitting at the pitch, in its bag, in case it rained. Left the site at 10am and returned at 1550, only to discover , some 'toe rag' had seen an opportunity, AND Stole the bag & cable. The site warden, Peter was disappointed to hear this, when I saw him. HE told me, they are told by Council to report thefts to PSNI. This i did but there was no point them coming out, as there was nothing to see, no cameras in area of pitch. Thankfully I was able to purchase a new 25m cable from the local Halfords.
The site is in a lovely setting, BUT, it is OPEN to the public to wander round. There is a car park beside the marina, and from here you can walk onto the site to go to the local cafe, toilets. There is a pathway through the trees surrounding the caravan site, with access points into the site.
Lesson learnt. It would not stop me using the site in the future, BUT I will not be leaving anything sitting about on the pitch.
