We find this site absolutely perfect. It is small and friendly with brilliant wardens who offer a warm, helpful and friendly service. We have been caravanning since 1990 and have used lots of CL's over the years as well as caravan club sites. We tend to chose the ones that are smaller and without toilets/showers as we find they are not too busy and are more relaxing. We use our own facilities and do not wish to pay extra per night for something we do not need or want. We like that there is quite big grass areas in between the hard standing pitches making it much more pleasant than some of the sites that feel as if you are on a service station. Some of the areas are left uncut so are like wildflower meadows. This was our second stay and have now walked around Cogra Moss several times on both the top and lower trails as well as Crummock, Buttermere, Loweswater and Ennerdale waters. There is a small exercise area which allows you to let your dog off the lead. It is only small, but it very useful, although there are footpaths just up the road as well. If you enjoy peace and quiet and walking then give it a go, we cannot fault it. It warms our hearts to find somewhere that is so thoughtfully run.
