Nice stay, but......

Stayed at Daleacres for four nights in early September, generally had a nice stay, the wardens were polite and helpful on my limited contact with them. The dog exercise field is excellent and with access to a public footpath directly from the site for those longer walks over the adjacent fields. I would make the following negative comments. The site is quite large and open and hence when it was full on two of our nights there it felt a little crowded. The toilet / shower facilities are not really adequate for a site of this size, just five toilets, six showers but seven washbasins. I never understand why the washbasins don't get converted to showers as they seem to be underused whilst six showers for over 140 pitches means queues at peak periods. The facilities were nice and clean after the wardens had been cleaning them but I cannot get over how disgusting some members are with their hygiene! I often found toilets not flushed and / or in a filthy state, perhaps some members have never mastered the skill of flushing a toilet or using a toilet brush! My wife advised me that the female toilets were also often in this condition, one occasion four of the six toilets being left in an unusable condition by previous users without the need for them to be cleaned. Why should the wardens have to clean up after such disgusting individuals. Not sure why the Caravan Club is going in to Yurts for hire. What next? Fleets of static caravans. Aren't we meant to be a club for tourers / motorhomes? Sorry but not one of my favourite sites.
