Good for families

Family friendly

We took our 5 year old grandson last week for 5 days and we all had a wonderful time. We could relax knowing he was safe and being able to spot him even if he went off with new friends and he loved the freedom, riding his bike and the playpark. The facilities are very good, immaculately clean and never too busy and the staff were, without exception, delightful, friendly and helpful. Loads to do in the area and we spent a full day using the RHDR getting off at Dungeness for the lighthouse and lunch at the pub, New Romney for the splendid model railway and Dymchurch for the beach. The day Rover ticket is excellent value for money. We also went to Port Lympne Safari Park which is a fabulous day out and both the safari trip and the dinosaur forest were a huge hit. Again worth every penny. Back at the site each evening the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and parents, grandparents and children were all pleasantly contented. It seemed even couples on their own were happy to enjoy the buzz. Admittedly at times of multiple arrivals and departures one does have to watch out for kids on bikes and scooters but by and large they were well behaved and drivers were very considerate and followed the 5mph rule. One quibble, which is not at all the fault of the campsite, which we would definitely return to, is that the roads round about are a disgrace and full of potholes. As cyclists we were a bit disappointed by this, as indeed we were by the dearth of cycle tracks. Very, very few and the few there are were shocking. In such flat countryside, which should be ideal cycling country, this seems a shame. Thank you all all Daleacres. We loved our holiday there.
