Lovely Site with very friendly staff

This is a lovely site in a good location, close to shops/pub but far enough away to really feel the country ambiance. Spent 8 days here and had no problems, site staff are so helpful and friendly, they reopened the shop as I arrived they were closing. The pitch was big enough and the water, waste and EHU all great, the bonus was the TV signal was very good. The only downside for me is the WIFI. It says there is free WIFI, but this is only in a hotspot, the only other alternative is in my opinion a rip off at £7.99 a day or worse £4.99 an hour. CAMC really need to sort this as the pitches become more expensive and like us we can work from our caravan we would welcome a better WIFI at an affordable rate. Overall lovely site good facilities and great staff

A lovely little site, made to feel VERY welcome. / Wifi charges are a complete shocker! :(

We only stayed for one night. Pros. We found the site easy to get to. We had a warm and helpful greeting on arrival. As it was towards the end of season ( (September) we had a choice of pitches! :) Very clean / tidy/ well maintained site. The ambience was nice. We set up our MoHo quickly and felt really pleased to have found the site. We noted the pub up the lane (Probably about 15 minute walk. However the lane is unlit and might be a little risky to walk / stagger back from in the darkness, so we decided to stay on site. we were delighted to find out that a fish & chip van was on site ( Mondays only I think!?). I have to say their fish & chips were really good! All facilities ( water, drainage, EHU's ) are all good! CONS ( and its is a PROPER CON' in every sense of the word)>>>> THE WiFi. The only REAL (AND BIG ISSUE) for us was the Wifi ! The site says there is WiFi... And there is..... BUT its BT and if ( like us) youre NOT a BT customer, the charges are EXTORTIONATE!!!!!!!! £4.99 for an HOUR!.... 7.99 for a Day!!!!!! That is a REDICULOUS fee! WHY RUIN THE EXPERIENCE BY TRYING TO RIP PEOPLE OFF!?? :( If it hadn't been for this they would have got a straight 10 from us, but we resent being ripped off..... and thats how we felt about the WIFI / this site. Lovely site, Great experience. Such a pity that it is spoilt by profiteering!

Second visit this year

We love this site, we only live a short distance away so this is our go-to site for weekend breaks. Its lovely and clean, the wardens are friendly and helpful, generally a nice place to be. There are yurts there too, so our non caravanning friends were able to join us - their yurt looked amazing. Nice pub nearby and a little further along is a nice bar and cafe called Unit 1. Great for lunch and local ales. Looking forward to going again.

Shame About Caravaners!

Great Site, Great Staff, Fantastic Area with Plenty to See & Do. Day one...caravaner from a grass pitch walks past our unit within two feet of the windows/door several times a day walking over our plot for a short cut to the shower block. Ended up blocking the route with tables & chairs...now they have to walk the correct way and stop being lazy. Day three caravan arrives next door and puts up awning, two fantastically loud yapping dogs. Next day they start to erect a large windbreak with steel supports and see through windows...we go out for the day. Arrived back and was unable to open car door without touching / hitting the windbreak / metal support poles as they had extended out from the awning towards my unit from the edge of the grass of their hardstanding to my edge of the grass of my hard standing...this is part of the "Fire Bridge". Looking out of my window virtually nose to nose of them sunbathing. We kept our blinds closed the whole ten days. Was returning from the shower block minutes later on my way to complain to the wardens when a warden was coming the other way and said before I could open my mouth "I've told them to take it down". Why are more and more members becoming so selfish and inconsiderate? I've been a member for 17yrs and never had so much trouble and seems to be on the increase. On another issue I have to mention the water stations and the hose pipes (this is all sites)... 1. the pipes point in the wrong direction, not down to the drains. 2. the hoses used are too short. 3. the hoses are not the right sort, too stiff and they end up splitting from members bending them in the correct direction (towards the drains). 4. The new stations installed at Daleacres have so many design / build faults...too small drains, no camber results in water going everywhere (except the drains), platform built level so the water floods towards the bin area and stays due to them being level...warning you need to wear wellingtons to access the bin area. This is no reflection on the brilliant wardens who work so hard and do an amazing job.

Great for our first Motorhome trip.

This was our first trip out in our new Motorhome and we could not have picked a better site. There was a possibility we could arrive late and we called ahead. The reception we received on the phone and on arrival (we were not late) was friendly and helpful. Everything about the site is first-class. The facilities, owners and staff could not have been better or more helpful. Great location for exploring and cycling and different takeaway food vans on both nights served excellent quality and well-priced food. The only minor irritation was a yappy jack Russell got next to us but this is not a reflection on the site but the owner of the dog. I am sure we will be back.

Great location

This is our absolute favourite site. Short walk from a great pub serving home cooked food. Short cycle to a brewery and the royal military canal which takes you right down to Hythe seafront where there are two great places to get fish and chips on the beach. It’s also easily cycled to Port Lympne although it is pretty hilly to get to. You can even see the giraffes from the site and sometimes hear the lions! The site is chilled, clean, quiet and really friendly staff there too. Can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful Campsite

We stayed 14 nights (end of july - start of august 2023) at Deleacres Campsite. It was our "base camp" to make day trips and explore South England (Canterbury, Dover, London, Stonehenge, etc.). The Campsite is beautiful, quiet and has really big pitches. The camp staff is really helpful and friendly. Everything is very clean and well kept. There is a pub not far away from the Campsite, the "Botolphs Bridge Inn", where you can have good food and drinks (incl. sunday roast). The next town is Hythe where you can shop. The "Romney Hythe an Dymchurch Railway" (little trains) is an attraction you should not miss. We would come back anytime! One hint: If you have a big caravan or motorhome and come via M20 and A20 to Deleacres, make sure you take the A261 to Hythe, drive through Hythe and take the Dymchurch road. These are the wider roads. Otherwise your Navigation system might send you through the narrowest roads it could find, as it happened to us. ;) Best regards from Germany

Great weekend

Daleacres has become our ‘go to’ for weekend breaks, it is only a 20 minute drive from home but we love it there. Usual high standard of facilities, good choice of pitches and really friendly, helpful wardens. We were joined on this trip by friends who booked the yurts on site, these looked superb. The local pub serves good food, there is also a cafe/bar called Unit1 not far away that serves great local ale and snacks We have already booked to return in September.

Not the best week ever.

Beautiful site, friendly wardens however week was really a bit spoiled by the number of unsupervised, badly behaved children. Toilet block continually full of small children who were circling the site and caravans on their cycles and scooters. Consequently the toilets always seemed to be unflushed snd continually out of toilet paper and hand soap. Such a shame some that parents have no concern whatsoever for other campers. As I said, beautiful site, so I'm sure if you visit in term time would be lovely.

Excellent as usual

We have been coming to Daleacres for over 20 years and have also used the storage facility and had a seasonal pitch. The standards have always been of the highest order and the wardens second to none. However this is our second visit of 2023 and we noticed that at least 2 showers and toilets remain out of commission. The number of yurts has been increased which leads to a higher foot fall with lesser facilities avalable. Whilst this didn't appear to be a problem during our visit it could be during the school holidays. We were also aware that there had been some wilful damage to one of the new yurts making it very unpleasant for the very hard working wardens. Despite the above Daleacres remains a favorite site and we'll be back soon.
