Great location for London
We decided to go away for Christmas and New Year, staying on this site. Being away for Christmas was a new experience for us, however our daughter lives 3 miles from the site and we had a lovely leisurely walk to hers Christmas morning.
We also had family come visit for New Year's Eve, and there was no problem leaving their car in the car park.
On arrival at the site we were greeted with very happy and informative staff, who had re-arranged our pitch so that we could be next to our relatives.
The pitches are hard standing, with plenty of space. Once onsite you could not believe how quiet the site was, when you came out onto the busy main road just a one minute walk away! The emergency service sirens, were the only give away that we were in a populated area. I cant comment on the sanitary block, as I never used these facilities.
Although there are no dog walks or a children's area, you are a one minute walk from Crystal Palace park.
There were plenty of squirrels on site, who were very entertaining. In the arrival "bumpf" if is mentioned that the squirrels and foxes on site do eat things left outside on pitches - so no rubbish bags, etc to be left overnight.
Crystal Palace itself has everything you could need, plenty of bars, restaurants, supermarkets, even a bus station. As everyone else has reviewed this site, it is perfect for so many choices of travel into the city or other locations in south London.
Buses fares are a set price of £1.50 per journey, which is unbelievable for a relaxed hour trip into Trafalgar Square return for £3! So easy to use your contactless bank card for payment, if you do not have oysters.
Each time we came across a warden, they were all extremely friendly and full of enthusiasm for their site.
We would definitely recommend this site and will be back. Hoping the lease is renewed, or extended, from November 18.
Plan plenty of time to get through the traffic with your outfit, as it can take a long time if you are traveling through peak times.
The only negative was that empty bottles were put in with food waste, so we were not sure if these were recycled.
