Not Currently Recommended For Dogs!
I am very sad to be writing this review, but feel very strongly that other dog owners should be aware. - This has been our favourite site for many years and possibly the site that we have visited the most. We have always had our dogs with us and have always enjoyed our stays here. We only live in Poole and have loved this site for 2 or 3 night get aways. However, on this occasion, we cut our 2 nights stay short and left after one night. There is a very real problem on this site with Burdock plants, or similar. - These are plants that shed small spikey balls of seeds that attach themselves to animals. Our dogs faces and legs were covered in these after every walk and became very distressed. After every walk it took 30 minutes to an hour to try to remove these seeds from our dogs, which again caused distress. We even tried walking the dogs in the middle of the roadways to avoid these seeds, but somehow, the dogs still picked them up. We spoke to other dog owners on the site all complaining of the same thing. I don't know what the answer is, as this is obviously a wild plant with seeds distributed by animals or on the wind. - I can't see that there is an answer to this, and we will not be able to stay here again without evidence that these plants have been eradicated. It was also a little disappointing to find every urinal in our block sealed off, resulting in having to wait for the toilet. Why? - No explanatory signs and we are way past Covid Restrictions!
