This is a very beautiful site, widely spread throughout mature woodland. There is one slight problem with woodland such as this, and that is that woods act as a sponge in heavy rain! We were unfortunate enough to arrive in the dark in torrential rain! The warden on duty was great and even suggested that we use one of the late arrival pitches which are hard standings. But no, we elected to find a pitch in the site. everywhere was sodden, but we did find a reasonable pitch in the end. I think that far more hard standing pitches would make this site even better. There is a great but slightly hilly and reasonably long dog walk. I have no problem with the composting loos or the separate showers. The staff were brilliant ( thank you) and we would definitely go there again.
