Warm welcome, highly recommanded

First we spent 3 nights, planned as a stopover from Dover (ferry) to Cornwall. But we could not get enough of it so we changed our plans and visited the site again on our way back to Dover. The staff is very friendly. Warm and helpful, We stayed at 10 CC-sites this May/June in the areas Cornwall/Devon/South east England; this site is one of our 2 favourites. Because of the total package: the great staff, the wooded area and also the facilities outside the site. There is a good pub just a few steps away. With a ten minute walk you are at a co-op with fresh croissants and bread every morning. There are lots of rendeers at the site, some of them are not shy at all and are just passing by while you are a few inches away. Our dog liked the dogwalk very much. Using dry composting toilets was a new experience for us, but a very positive one, no smell at all. During the day/evening you hear the sounds of train horns now and then, but for us not annoying at all, and the trainstation so nearby is of course very easy when you don't want the use your own vehicle..

There may some reindeer in Dorset but not at this site they are Sika Deer and are a imported deer from Japan and have spread through the county. We have stayed at this site many times and have noticed that the deer have eaten a lot of the fauna of the wooded areas leaving areas very open and a lot of the wildlife has gone.
