Up Close and Personal With Wild Deer

A site for those who enjoy watching the wild deer which could be seen grazing on the site. On one occasion a deer was inadvertently startled by the appearance of our car from around a corner, and we saw her leap high up a bank and into the trees. Another one was so tame that she would eat from your hand! Two others watched from nearby but they were more shy. The downside for families was the unusual "composting" toilets, younger children cannot use them without a parent supervising them. We could sometimes hear the nearby trains, but it was only in the daytime, and the sound was not intrusive.
