Good for families

Unusual, unique site.

Stayed for six nights in October. Well located site, close to rail station, with good connections to Dorchester/Weymouth westbound and Southampton and beyond eastbound. Train noise an issue on the pitches near the line as drivers sound their horn approaching the level crossing. Showers a bit tired. Toilets kept very clean. Composting toilets ok but some campers neglect to close the toilet lid after use, which can leave an odour. Pleasant walk or cycle to Moreton. Tearoom and gardens worth a visit. Best discovery in the area was the chance finding of the tap-room of the Dorset Brewing Company in Crossways, about a mile walk from the site. They do brewery tours on a Friday afternoon and the tap-room/pub is open from 4pm until 10pm on Friday and Saturday afternoon. The barman was a friendly Aussie head brewer. Brilliant beers at a good price - highly recommended.
