Trains!
The site is in an attractive location - in a woodland setting; the pitches are beautiful; the ground level, and soft enough to drive pegs in and withdraw them easily; the facilities clean (not overly modern); and the showers warm...
However, the trains.... my word!
On arrival, we spotted the train track near certain pitches and asked about the train service. Reassured that trains were infrequent and stopped by 10p.m., we pitched in that area because of being told that it had the sunniest aspect - that much was true. Our awning was up by the time we first experienced the trains, otherwise we would probably have moved - there were several every hour, even more on Saturdays, but EVERY train hooted loudly as it approached the level crossing. Service started at 6:15a.m. and finished at 11:15p.m.
It it certainly not a peaceful site, but if you're a deep sleeper or hard of hearing, it would be perfect. Location and facilities are perfect - such a shame you can't lift it and drop it half a mile away.
