Such a peaceful site
Just spent 3 nights at Crossways as a stopover between Cornwall and Isle of White. What a lovely site! If I had not paid for Isle of Wight Ferry we would have changed plans and stayed at Crossways.
This is not your typical CAMC site. Small glades in acres of woodland, lots of wildlife (although some of it is quite tame), grass pitches, a mix of sun and shade.
Dry composting toilets are fine and better for the environment. Seperate shower blocks were clean and showers were hot. Staff were excellent.... friendly and very helpful, and keep the site tidy and natural.
No food shop on site, but a good small Co-op just a few minutes walk down the road on footpath.
Lots of interesting places to visit around, by car, train, bus or bike. We cycled to Moreton to see the beautiful church, associated with TE Lawrence, and the excellent Tea rooms.
Also a fascinating clock and cider making museum is an easy bike ride away.
We shall definitely be returning to this lovely site.
