We stayed for 4 nights in this peaceful site, we managed to find a pitch in Hinds Pasture which is away from the road and railway line, it was peaceful but once you walk up the road towards reception you can hear the traffic. We were pleased to have chosen this area having driven all around the site, there are lots of trees so finding sunny spots was more difficult. The warden was very helpful in pointing out which areas would be best for sun or late sun. To see the deer wandering around the site was a lovely experience, I chose this site for this very reason and was not disappointed although I would have liked them to actually come to our motorhome but they were across the way so I could see them. I did buy some deer food but took it back at the end of our stay as they had not come to eat it, it will be used for others. The shower block was separate from the toilet block but that was no problem at all, just had to walk in different directions. The composting toilets were no problem, they were kept clean although they did have trouble whilst we were there with the electrics keep tripping out so the fans stopped working, it seemed to happen overnight so in the morning the toilets were a bit smelly. I have to say though that the wardens were on to it immediately, it was not their fault. They did a really good job keeping the site clean and not being so pedantic about how you pitched your motorhome, they showed sensibility, rather than other site wardens if you are a centimetre off line they hound you. Bike riding from the site was more difficult as the road outside the site is very busy and fast moving. We did take our bikes on the train to Dorchester to ride to Weymouth but that was awful, the cycleway was alongside the main road and full of fumes and noisy traffic, not to mention the long hills either way.
