Lovely site but a few niggles

We stayed here last week for 4 nights. The site is lovely but is impaired by train horns and noise every hour. One one side is the train tacks and the other side of the site is a quarry. The road outside is very busy with lots of lorries going to and from the quarry. Lots of the pitches are in shade especially at this time of year, this meant that the awning got quite grubby as was always damp. The dog walk is lovely but is lead only, no off lead on site. The train station is a 5 min walk and a return to Weymouth was £7.50 return and free for doggo. This was great! The wardens were helpful and friendly. The facilities.are quite dated and the compost toilets are fine once you get used to a breeze…however be really careful you don’t drop anything as you would never want to see it again. All in all we enjoyed our stay but would only be back if we needed to do something that area. The Walled Garden in Moreton was lovely and free and dogs on lead welcome. There is a Coop within an easy flat walk.

If you had read the reviews for this site not only this year bout all years before you would have seen all comments about trains, guarry road noise sorry  it’s wasn’t your cup of t but hundreds of other like it that’s why they book year after year think you should have gone to a commercial site, it’s not just this time of year it’s shaded this is wood land and it will be shaded all year round but not in the winter

if you read the rules for dogs you will see dogs on any site have to be on leads to many caravaners and Moterhome owners have no respect for other people as soon as the doors are open the dogs are off as usual my dog won’t hurt you he won’t run off did you not understand that there are deer on site and your dog will come of second best.the rules are there for all of us to abide by so next time do your research before you go anywhere enjoy your next trip out
