Yes, the train noise is audible, as is the nearby road. Also occasionally, if you really listen, you may hear earth working machinery from the adjacent site too. However the birdsong, general uncluttered feeling of the site layout together with the sighting of deer roaming freely about make up for all that and allow you to kick back and relax. Sure, the toilets and separate shower rooms are a little tired compared to the most up to date caravan club site facilities but they are kept clean and tidy by the wardens and perfectly serviceable. None of the regimented pitch lines of hard standing pitches here. You pitch on mostly small grassed areas, in wooded glades which adds to the relaxed ambiance. True, some of the pitch areas could do with proper hard standing bases to make them usable and perhaps the club may well invest some money to make that so in the future but not, I hope, at the expense of taking away what tranquil grass areas already exist.
