July 19 Stay
We have stayed once before at Crossways and returned as its such a nice site. We like the site very much. Although they have composting toilets they are fine and not at all smelly.
The location is very good for us being in a motorhome that we do not want to move once we are pitched. Short walk to pub (changed hands recently) that is not quite as good as before (carvery now) but not too bad. The conservatory area gets booked up so reserve if you want to eat in this area.
Train station next to the site with access to Bournemouth / Weymouth / Dorchester which is great. We were pitched next to the railway line and the trains sound the horn when they are approaching the railway crossing at the station. It didn't really bother us as they do not run all night but some might not like the railway noise. Choose a pitch away from the railway and you should be fine.
We will return to the site as it is very nice. Pitches are hidden away in smaller enclosed glades which make the site feel very small and intimate.
