Ideal for nature lovers
Well located site in the area between Dorchester, Weymouth and Wareham (all accessible via the convenient railway station, plus the line also goes to Bournemouth, Poole, Southampton, Winchester and London Waterloo) Luckily we were not pitched too close to the railway, which could have been annoying with regular toots from the train as it approached/left the adjacent station.
There is a pub next door which was so busy that we could not dine there, but the food looked nice (discount weekdays for Club members) A small shop was about 10/15 minutes walk along the main road.
We are a retired couple so cannot comment on the suitability for family groups, although attention would need to be paid to children using the composting toilets. There was not much lighting after dark so a torch is needed if you are not right next to a sanitary block.
This is the first Club site we have visited with resident deer! They were very tame.
Many thanks to the wardens, who helped us restore electricity after our fuse blew.
We will be coming back to this site again.
