Especially attractive site
We stayed at Crossways for two weeks up to early September and found it an unusual and fascinating woodland location. Staff on the site were helpful and friendly and in practice there was virtually no noise from either the quarry (which could not be seen) or the railway. The deer wandered around the site freely and seemingly without fear. It was very convenient to have a pub with excellent food close by and other choices within easy reach.
Other posts have mentioned the composting loos which, although OK for many people and kept very clean, are very low to the ground with no hand rails and therefore for an old(ish) person with arthritic knees like myself, impracticable to use!
