Disappointed

This is not your usual C&CC Site. Located in a old quarry, there are steep areas with narrow roads across the site - watch children on bikes, especially going against the one way system. The site is bordered by a working quarry, we had constant digger/lorry noise (beeping/rumbling) from 7.30am to 6pm on weekdays. A train line also borders the site, trains run regularly all day, every day and each one sounds its horn as it approaches the level crossing on the road outside the site. Toilet/shower facilities are "interesting". The composting toilets have a large chute underneath each one - you wouldn't let a small child use one unsupervised (seriously)! The showers are in separate buildings from the toilets. Lots of trees make it very pretty but limit the amount if sunlight getting to pitches. Absolutely no wifi or 3/4g - makes you realise how much you rely on your phone now on holiday for planning trips, working out routes, etc - very frustrating. In fact, EE haven't discovered Dorset at all! Would only recommend for weekend stays and not for families with young children, as you can't give them the independence that you usually can on CC&C Sites.
