Crossways is a very attractive site with pitches in small glades in an old quarry. A short walk from Moreton station with trains to Dorchester and Weymouth in one direction and Poole and Bournemouth in the other, the downside being periodic train noise. However one or two things need looking at. We have always thought it a good idea to separate the showers from the toilets but not so far that it becomes an inconvenience and when one block is closed for cleaning its a long walk to the next. The wash cubicles could do with something more substantial than a shower curtain, this is certainly not up to CC standards. Finally as motorhome owners not enough thought was given to the siting of the service point. It was impossible to line up over the drain as it was too close to the taps etc. and meant half our van was blocking the road. We then found that we could not open the lid anyway. We arrived at the end of a very wet day and then had a disagreement with a warden so not a very good start to our stay. Fortunately the weather changed for the better for a couple of days otherwise we might have given up and gone home but we won't be going back anytime soon.
