Visited late October and was surprised that there were not more visitors (it didn't help that the club book was wrong as to dates). However with less visitors the fallow deer could reclaim their territory. Remarkably tame too which says something good about us campers. Only a short train ride to Dorchester where the museum is well worth a visit - it has a popular cafe too.It is a site my wife and I regularly visited, it is just me now but it brought back good memories. Alan. PS I don't know whether older children or teenagers would like it so scored Good for families accordingly.
