The road to the site for the final last few miles in our 7.5 meter long motorhome was tight and narrow but when we got there the staff were awesome. The site is ideally located just a short walk of 5-10 minutes from Coniston lake, and you're surrounded by lovely woodland. It’s beautiful… The facilities are spotlessly clean, with plenty of showers etc that require a key to access them which is handed to you when you arrive. You can walk to Coniston village from the site along the edge of the lake which takes about 20-30 minutes or you can walk the top road but be warned, there is a short section which crosses the road! The site and area is very dog friendly. Some nights they have a food van on site with pizza and fish & chip nights and a short walk away is the town of Coniston which has plenty of Inns/ pubs/ cafe's & eateries along with a Co-op and a Spar. We arrived the week after the Easter holiday period so it was nice and quiet which was just what we were after - idyllic. We would highly recommend this site for anyone with dogs, anyone who enjoys long or short walks including rambling and hill walkers as well as water-sports enthusiasts.
