Lots of hassles but worth it
Despite finding a pitch being tricky, the hike to the lake with water sports equipment being a bit challenging, the hike up the hill to reception when you are at the bottom of the site, the noise from the campsite next door at the weekend, and the narrow roads to get to the site, it is actually worth it.
Great location, peaceful when the other site next door isn’t busy and rowdy (which also affects access to the launch site). Plenty of shade and good walks straight off the site. Great base to explore the lake or the entire Lake District.
We came to paddleboard and weren’t disappointed and will definitely be back. Just hope we get a good pitch again.
