I see a few unwarranted negative comments about this site. This is a woodland site, with lots of trees and undulating ground, this is, after all the lake district and it is definitely not an open field. Therefore one would expect quite a lot of growth around you and i full understand that pitches will be challenging to maintain, especially when times are so busy that ground keepers can't get in there often with the 'weed whacker'. Our pitch was nestled in the trees in a quiet cul-de-sac at the top of the site. The cul-de-sac shape giving everyone more room between pitches and therefore a great deal of privacy. The facilities where great, clean and fresh. The staff were helpful and friendly and the location for long or short walks around Coniston was brilliant. If you like your walking, cycling, water sports and you appreciate the offerings of the lake district, this is a great choice of site.
