Wooded site close to Coniston

We spent three nights her in April 2017, the site has several parking areas dotted about the woodland and is completely surrounded by trees. The usual spotless CC facilities and an easy walk to the lakeside. Helpful and really friendly wardens. Stunning scenery. This is a National Trust members utopia. So much to see and such natural beauty. Make sure you visit Tarn Hows, a short drive away on winding narrow lanes.. The Sites Directory suggests approach from the South and I couldn't agree more, as we came from Scotland we did the opposite and while it was no actual problem even the main 'A' roads are very narrow and can be quite busy manking travelling time slow and at times very difficult. We probably had the worst fish ever from the mobile fish and chip van although the chips were lovely - I think he just couldn't cope with the queue and rushed things - never again! A lovely, albeit very busy site.
