On arrival I was told that only a third of the site is kept open during the winter. This meant that at the busy time just after New Year there were very few pitches to chose from and this was compounded by a contractor spreading gravel on a number of pitches. I understand that keeping just one facility block open is economic during the winter months but it is a shame that members aren't allowed to have a bigger choice of pitches if they are prepared to walk a bit further. Strangely, the lighting and EHU points were lit throughout the whole of the closed off sections. The facility block was not particularly warm and the showers could have been hotter - surely a key requirement from a club site in winter? A lack of lighting descending the steps away from the facility block is a distinct safety concern.
