Why stay here ...

OFFERS*: £25 OFF Summer Getaways | Kids for £1 (aged 5-17) | Under 5s stay free | £5 refundable deposit

Imaginatively landscaped, the campsite is set within 63 acres of beautiful National Trust woodland. With pitches grouped in open glades and easy access to the fun attractions of Coniston Water, the site offers a scenic, peaceful base for an active holiday that will keep the whole family happy, including its own mini adventure playground for children. Additional activities within the area include cycling, rock climbing, guided pony treks around the fells and much more.

The close proximity of Coniston Park Coppice Club Campsite to Coniston Water is a great bonus, a short walk from the bottom exit gate brings you to the lakeside launching point where you can enjoy watching or try your hand at a range of water sports such as dinghy sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. Coniston Pier, only 1.5 mile away, offers steamboat rides on the Coniston Gondola and boat hire. Several cafes and pubs serving good food are located in the village 1 mile away.

The campsite is an excellently placed central point for exploring the whole National Park, with its dramatic combination of Lakeland and soaring fells. Needless to say, the walking is matchless and you have a good range of paths to keep you on the go. Birdwatchers will not be disappointed - expect to have your binoculars in constant use, especially in Grizedale Forest.

Started camping here in the 1970’s…so we must like it

There are a couple of tight spots getting here but the site is well situated & peaceful. Lots of hiking, biking & water sports. We knew this site before it had electricity & all the amenities of toilet blocks, laundry, dish washing which are all meticulously maintained. Sadly cabins have... Show more

Happy Place

The road into Coniston is a but narrow, with a couple of tight spots where courtesy and common sense are needed. But it is well worth the journey. The site isn't directly on the Lake shore, but it is really easy to get to it. There are the usual facilities... Show more

Brilliant site!

Great Location and Friendly Staff, But play parks are turned into football pitches

We really enjoy visiting this site because it’s clean, the staff are friendly, and the location is perfect. However, the one downside that lowers my rating is the park near shower block C. It’s constantly used as a football field day and night (except when it’s raining), which makes it... Show more

Fantastic Site in Unique Setting

Great site, excellent directions provided, well signposted once within, really helpful folks on reception to explain the layout, spacious and plentiful pitches in small 'clusters' under the trees, showers were clean and warm, services well provided, 5 mins walk down to Coniston Water, 30 mins walk along the shoreline into... Fabulous!

Our first visit here, lovely peaceful site, loved the little areas of the site. Fantastic facilities, can’t understand why someone complained about opening times of shower blocks, there are 2 other shower blocks on site! Lovely helpful site staff, do a fantastic job considering the size of the site. Will definitely be... Show more
