Bit of an ordeal getting here as main road to Coniston was closed , rang the site and spoke to a very helpful young lad who got his map out and gave us directions to come in a different way. It was very busy so had to go round a couple of times to get a pitch which was to the side of the road sharing with 2 other Van's and under trees , it was chucking it down which carnt be helped , i do like the sound of rain on the caravan roof but the rain from the trees made it really noisy on the caravan roof . Not actually on the lake but not to far to walk to it. Nice walk into coniston with the dog which took about 35 minutes . We walked to Tarn Hows which was lovely also. Pizza van on site which was lovely. Had a nice meal and drinks at The Wilson Arms about 15 minute walk away .
