OUR FAVOURITE SITE

Love this site, so welcoming and friendly. It's set in National Trust Woodland and has the get back to nature feel with birds and squirrels, and at night owls hooting. We live in rural Cornwall which is a lovely county in itself, but Coniston and the Lakes are just stunning. Although the site is big it doesn't feel that way as the pitches are in little enclosures. The site facilities are always clean and there's plenty of them. The wardens are very helpful and nothing is to much trouble. You can walk to Coniston through the site, it's a lovely walk with the lake on the right hand side and gorgeous views. Trips on the Steam Ship Gondola go from Coniston as does the 505 bus service which takes you to Hawkshead Where you can get the Mountain Goat minibus to Beatrix Potters house Hilltop, or carry on to Ambleside or Windermere. Coniston itself is very pretty. As previous reviewers have mentioned the roads are twisty and narrow but this is the Lake District the roads are part of its charm. This year was our second visit, we love this site and all it offers and will definitely be returning. On our next visit we'll hire a small car to save taking our Motorhome off site. Enterprise do a discount for Club Members.
