Helpful staff. Pitches disappointing compared to other parks as can be a few vehicles sharing a gravelled area to side of road, and weeds encroaching. Shower block pretty much same as other parks so decent. Not directly on lake front but not far to walk down. 40 mins walk to Boating centre and centre of Coniston. Wardens did not say you could cycle to Coniston on front but it is easy to do this, - wide enough for walkers and cyclists. £4 taxi to Coniston using ‘Alan’ , telephone numbers of firms available from reception. Food van comes quite a few nights, although pizza van sold out 1 hour before closing when we were ther so book ahead, option changes according to night, so could be fish n chips etc. Ambleside area better for cycling trails definitely.
