It's the little things!
This isn't a massive review as overall the site was great. Ideally located for walks alongside the lake or for a stroll into the hills. Coniston is a bit 'touristy' for our liking but that isn't anything to do with the site. As previous reviewers have said, the site isn't flat and unless you pitch near to a toilet block, it can be a bit of a hike if you've left it till the last minute, you may have to run! The toilet door bangs so if you are near that's going to be annoying. Also, you need a key to access the toilets - not sure of the reason really?
We mentioned one of the night lights which illuminate the roadways being faulty and this wasn't ever fixed. This meant that the path to the toilet from our site during the night was extremely dark.
Pizzas are amazing btw!
Only other comment, at the bottom of the site is another camp site. The footpath to Coniston goes through this and over the bank holiday weekend it looked more like a festival site than anything else - quite intimidating with dogs and kids running everywhere, tents and vans parked all over the place, bbq's going off and music blaring from each pitch and rubbish strewn around - definitely not a club site!
