Half Term in Coniston

2 Mums, 2 young boys and a trailer tent for May half term. What a week we had, starting with a lovely welcome from the staff. Great advice on pitches that were handy for the playground (1 of three) and for the toilet/shower block. We picked a pitch that was in between both these areas which meant our boys were free to roam. The site was brilliant for the boys, set in woodland with plenty to do including an activity pack given to us by the staff. This was full of games and puzzles to do, and there was a treasure trail on the site with treasure at the end!! The information centre was full of leaflets for the surrounding area, and had a great folder full of menus for the local pubs. Coniston is only a short walk away from the site, with the majority of the walk on a footpath and pavement. We admired beautiful views of the lake and surrounding areas on the walk. Coniston itself is full of brilliant things to do, including museums, boat trips, picturesque walks and Brantwood House is well worth a visit. The site was spotless all the time, and very well run. It was nearly full during our stay, but never felt busy. The only reason why I have given a mark of three for peace and quiet is because it was half term week, so there was lots of noisy children about. Absolutely loved my stay here, and will be back for sure.
