Don't normally write reviews but felt I needed to for Coniston as it was a great place to stay. We really liked it. The site is huge but is split up into smaller pockets all in woodland making the site feel much more welcoming and private than the number of pitches suggests. Great for exploration. Easy access to the lakeside. Head away from Coniston and you will find quiet bits of lakeside that are idyllic.  The site shop deserves a special mention. Apart from being the best stocked shop I have seen on a club site, it had a herb garden outside that was well provisioned and free. It really makes a difference to use fresh herbs and was Brilliant. Every site should have one! One thing to be aware of, despite the great on site shop- Don't expect to do a 'big shop' at a local supermarket. There aren't any!
