Good walking
We had a weekend here during April during one of the rare spells of warm weather. We arrived following a longish journey and had a very warm and efficient welcome. The site is very large and I imagine might feel quite crowded during busy times. Some of the non-awning pitches were small and oddly shaped and we would have found some of them challenging even for our 6m motorhome. The site itself is lovely. Lots of birdlife and we saw a deer in the small field just at the top of the site. There is an easy walk into Coniston and lots of walking from the site.
I thought it odd that the facilities block was closed for cleaning for a good 90 minutes each morning. On such a large site, I would imagine that this is the busiest period and perhaps like at some other sites, cleaning might better take place in the afternoon.
Certainly a site to return to.
