This is a fantastic site. We stopped for a long weekend in mid-May and were blessed with some beautiful weather. The site itself is quite big but its very spread out so there is a feeling of space, the pitches arent all on top of one another. As its set into a hillside levelling chocks are a must, I would also recommend rock pegs for your awning as the ground is very hard. The facilities are modern and spotlessly clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. Its a very dog friendly site and there are plenty of good dog walking places. Its only a 10 minute walk down to the banks of Coniston Water which is stunning. Coniston village is about a 20 minute walk away and has a number of pubs (quite important for anywhere we stay!), a few shops, a couple of chip shops but not much else. We love this site, so much so we booked to go back before we left, but I would re-iterate what some others have mentioned about access if you have a large caravan. For the last 5/6 miles the road is very, very narrow in parts and definitely not for the faint-hearted. But we made it with our 27' long twin axle van so take your time and hold your nerve and you'll be fine.
