Good for families

As good as it gets.

A lovely site, close to the delightful Lakeland village of Coniston. After previously staying on a site in Bowness, it was good to be in the 'real' Lake District. The facilities are the best that I have seen, and never crowded. One concern that I had was, Could I launch my dinghy from the site? You can, by driving into the adjacent camp site.(via two gates) We enjoyed bar meals at the Church House in Torver and the Black Bull in Coniston. We visited the Ruskin Museum (£6 entry) and admired a rally of old British sports cars. (all of the owners were Belgian) We ended each day's activity by drinking Earl Grey tea, sitting outside of the Bluebird cafe.
