We have just stayed on this site for 4 nights and have had a brilliant time from start to finish. We did have some misgivings about the location prior to arrival but these were soon swept aside, and we thoroughly enjoyed the easy access to the Llwyn Peninsula and the Snowdonia National Park. The warden who greeted us on arrival was very welcoming and friendly and we were soon on a lovely level hardstanding pitch. We liked the way the site is divided into smaller areas as this made it feel more intimate. The new facilities block was lovely and the two separate areas for showers and toilets in each of male and female sides was a great improvement as the facilities remained open during cleaning and, if necessary, repairs. The smooth floor tiles and underfloor heating made showering a pleasure. From the site we visited the Osprey Nesting site, and Abersoch on the Llwyn peninsula and also took a lovely circular tour through Beddgelert to Betws- y-Coed and back. The local walks from the site were well marked and delightful too. There was a good size and easily accessible Tesco store in Porthmadog only 4 miles away. On our list for next time is the steam railway as it travels through such amazing countryside, and Porthmerion, in addition to more local walks. We will definitely return to this jewel of a site and enjoy more of what it and the local area has to offer.
